ITV : Sono iniziate le riprese della serie della ITV  in tre parti del romanzo di Julian Barnes , Arthur & George , sulla base di eventi autentici della vita di Sir Arthur Conan Doyle . Martin Clunes interpreterà il celebre romanziere e medico che ha creato il detective Sherlock Holmes . Le riprese della serie  (tre parti) sono iniziate a settembre  del 2014  . Dopo la morte della moglie , Louisa, tutti intorno a Conan Doyle fanno del loro meglio per sostenerlo  dal suo dolore e lutto tra cui la sua amata ' mamma ' che lo implora di " affondare i denti in qualcosa . Ambientato  nello Staffordshire  , Hampshire e Londra con lo sfondo della casa di famiglia di Conan Doyle , Undershaw , Sir Arthur unisce le forze con il suo servo fidato , Alfred ' Woody ' con la quale ha un legame molto forte . Inizia cosi' ad indagare sul caso di George Edalji , un avvocato  e  figlio del vicario di Hampshire  , reverendo Shapurji Edalji e sua moglie Charlotte . George ha scontato sette anni nel carcere di Pentonville per  , una serie di reati che sono diventati noti come The Great Wyrley Rippings .  Conan Doyle esorta Woody di organizzare un incontro con George , che ora  è in "uno stato di limbo" . Conan Doyle ritrova inoltre Jean Leckie , una donna molto più giovane , con il quale ha avuto  un rapporto ' platonico ' , mentre sua moglie era viva . Jean divenne poi la sua seconda moglie . Set at the turn of the 20th century, the story follows the separate but intersecting lives of two very different British men: a half-Indian solicitor and son of a Vicar, George Edalji, and the world-famous author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Roughly one-third of the book traces the story of Edalji's trial, conviction, and imprisonment for a crime he did not commit. About one-third of the book traces the story of Doyle's life and his relationships with his first wife Louisa Hawkins and his platonic lover Jean Leckie. Roughly one-third of the book concerns Doyle's attempt to clear the name of Edalji and uncover the true culprit of the crime.
