Tratto dal romanzo di Daphne du Maurier, ‘The Scapegoat’ racconta la storia di John  e Johnny Spence, due uomini molto diversi che hanno una cosa in comune - un volto.
Il film è ambientato nel 1952, la Gran Bretagna si prepara per l'Incoronazione, John Standing, un insegnante che è senza lavoro, incontra il suo sosia Johnny Spence, un uomo d'affari fallito. Standing si ritrova a vivere la vita di Spence.

The Scapegoat stars, Matthew Rhys, Sheridan Smith, Eileen Atkins, Jodhi May and Andrew Scott.


 The Scapegoat is a planned film adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's 1957 novel of the same name. The drama is written and directed by Charles Sturridge and stars Matthew Rhys as lookalike characters John Standing and Johnny Spence.The novel was first adapted into film in 1959 by director Robert Hamer, with Alec Guinness playing the parts of John Barratt and Jacques de Gué.
